The Catanzion crew was founded in 2002 and has since become a key player on the Calabrian and then national reggae and dancehall scene, in collaboration with CZ Allianz (promotion agency).
They have also performed at various events in Italy and Europe. Active for over 20 years, they are also one of the few sound systems in the history of the Calabrian reggae and dancehall scene.
Since 2007, it has promoted several national and international artists in Calabria and Rome, including Busy Signal, Elephant Man, David Rodigan, Aidonia, Morgan Heritage, Capleton, Assassin, Burro Banton, Mr Vegas, Ward 21, Mighty Crown, Konshens, Stylo G, Cham, Mr Lexx, Tony Matterhorn, Rdx, Gappy Ranks, Bass Odyssey, Mighty Crown, Supersonic, Sentinel, Walshy Fire (Major Lazer), Jugglerz, Coppershot, Yard Beat, and many others (the entire Italian “scene”), produced primarily as part of the “Dutty Summer” summer festival, which from 2007 to 2022, first at Percival Beach (a historic yard in Italy and beyond) and then in other locations along the Catanzaro coast, set the Ionian coast ablaze.
Even today Catanzion and CZ allianz continue to promote summer events with the “Wah Gwaan” show and to promote Reggae & Dancehall culture as if it were always the first day.
