Le classique c’est chic!

What would happen if we stripped classical ballet of bows, mirrors, pointes shoes and forced smiles? What if we spilled it into the city, reimagining the latter as a space to be crossed through diagonals and manèges?

Le classique c’est chic! was created with the goal of deconstructing the imagery surrounding classical academic technique, freeing it from the criteria of exclusivity that define it, with the intent of offering as many people as possible the tools to understand and reclaim their own bodies – in a practice of reappropriating and re-signifying the public space and how we move through it. It is a collective act of caring for our dancing bodies, each of them unique and valuable in its own specificity.
