In a time marked by deep fractures and the fragility of social bonds, DILUVIO investigates shipwreck as a condition of the present — traversing what remains of the world’s rubble and inviting a collective rethinking of how we live together. The work draws inspiration from William Golding’s novel Lord of the Flies, staging a free and critical reinterpretation that displaces the original narrative, setting and time. The memories, nightmares and hallucinations of the story find new dramaturgical force through a process of scenic deconstruction and rewriting that interweaves vocality, movement and sound. The young castaways’ desire for salvation — manifested in the longing for return and in attempts to restore familiar forms of coexistence — dissolves, making way for a new perception of shipwreck: no longer an end but a threshold from which to imagine the future, an impulse toward new modes of gathering and toward the construction of spaces of belonging where new forms of connection can be discovered. In DILUVIO, dance and music release their soothing, lysergic and cathartic power, becoming a territory of bodily liberation and an experience of personal and collective transformation. Moving through the sonorities, imaginaries, tendencies and aesthetics of techno, trance and alternative rock countercultures, the stage becomes a fluid, immersive space — thinning the distance between performers and audience, dissolving the boundaries of the performance until it transforms into a discotheque at the twilight of the world. A driving, rhythmic rain of lights, sounds, bodies, voices and sweat: a sensory vortex into which to plunge and take part in a ritual of collective celebration.
