Within Nulla dies sine linea, thanks to the collaboration with artist Mordjane Mira, choreography encounters whipcracking – an acrobatic whip technique.

The Latin phrase Nulla dies sine linea, literally translated as “no day without drawing a line,” is reclaimed here to draft a physical, liberating, and feminine manifesto. The crack produced by a whip is the release of stored energy at a speed faster than that of sound.

Through the study of outburst and momentum, it becomes possible to reflect on notions such as the sudden and the impetuous – not only as abrupt motion, but also in their broader meanings of τέλος and spontaneous impulse of the soul.

The aim is to strip this art form of every stereotype, transforming the use of an instrument of submission into an act of freedom and resistance against all forms of imposition. To explore whipcracking as a language is to express a feminine force that patriarchal culture seeks to repress and control. The femininity referred to here is not performative, soothing, rational, or submissive; rather, it is a primal and uncontainable force.
