ROSSOCREPA (working title) is a reflection on the fissure in the female body.
The female body that exposes itself in its condition of being both matrix and consequence of a rupture. Liminal is the place it inhabits. The given images of the female body – sensual, generative, deformed, hunched, enslaved by anthropological and political duties, fleshy and gaunt, tear, fissure, breach, laceration, rejection and residue, duplicity.
This project is a “fissure” (a branch) of the work begun with Arianna Ulian. It deepens the reflection on the body’s fissures already explored in CrePa in its duo version, which emerged from the encounter between two bodies. Here, however, the focus shifts to the transformation of the individual female body during the generative state of motherhood: to the internal and external fractures it is called upon to welcome and endure, to its defective perception, and to the shadow of imperfection, anomaly, deformity, and incapacity that looms over this body, both socially and professionally.
